Recently I have been very into looking at web dev. It seams that things on the web are already designed, but really its cool to try and make your own version. I really enjoy running off an basic model, not starting from scratch. For example Digg is a fantasic website. I use it day to day, learning about stuff I would not normally. So, when I heard about Meneame, a free, open, digg clone, I thoguht cool. This is what I want to do. So I downloaded the source (here). I have been playing with Wordpress and Drupal on my server for about 2 months, but running Digg clone is really cool. I hope that I find something that clones Flickr or Newsvine?
Nike. The sports componey. Not known for many technological advances? Soon they will be. They are working with Apple to release a system that allows you to jog and listen to the iPod at the same time. The iPod haas to be a Nano, and you have to have a piar of Nike+ Shoes. It sends the data from your feet to your iPod and informs you while your joging. Along with that a new version of iTunes comes out soon with ablity to get workouts and videos for your iPod.
All this data is trasfered by a wireless system. Sounds like Bluetooth. If Apple is to keep this up, and it is about time for the Nano to be upgraded, then its very simple what is going to happen. A bluetooth nano. About time!
Apple (God sake, im obsesed!) still has its press event tomorow. With the recent release of the MacBook, I think there are more products to get released. The best thing is that the iPods have not been updated yet. Now, here is my predictions for tomorow
- Steve comes in
- Talks about the new store (duhh, he’s standing in it!)
- Talks about how great the new MacBooks are, new features, screen
- Then goes onto iPod.
- He starts with the Nano, 8 and 10gigs, video surport but it will not take over the 5g iPod.
- The Shuffle will die!!! (Muhahahaha!!!!)
- The real video iPod. The Cinipod? The iPod Av? The iPod Wireless? Bluetooth, WiFi and Touchscreen. Well, 2 of those max.
- The reserection of the Cube?
Time will tell how stupid I was.
Now there is a new lovely MacBook, something has to give. Apple say’s its time to say Goodbye to the iBook and the PowerBook. Just think of all those years. The PowerBook did 15 years of work, since 1991. The iBook did only 7, but still feals like its been as long as the PowerBook. They where both great computers, but bugger off PowerPC, Intel is here!
I have never been so happy to see my predictions are wrong. I always think things will take longer than they need be. So, Apple release the MacBook. There new type of laptop. With a 13 inch screen, iSight & Frontrow, 1.83 and 2.0 Ghz Core Duo, WiFi, Bluetooth and Magsafe. Starting from £729 and going to £1029. I cant wait for a version with 802.11N. Ether way I can’t choose between Black or White.
The laptop for going to collage? Apple’s site says so!
