My first ever games console was a Gameboy Color. It was Lime Green and came with Pokemon Blue, which was all the rage in 1998. One of the most exciting things about it was the add-on called the Gameboy Camera. These things where like £50 in 1999, but in 2006 at a carboot sale, more like £2.
I took a look on Wikipedia to find out more. Its a basic digital camera that can hold upto 30 black and white shots. Flickr has a very good collection of photos from the camera and even a music video was shot on it.
It looks really good and could be a lot of fun. The only problem is how do I get my photos off it and onto the Mac?

Children in Need is a fantastic cause. The way it looks after children who need help. By putting on a good night of TV, the raise money for children who need help. Last year they raised over £17 million. Put here is my question. Is there icon, Pudsey, a drug addict?
Having a look at the Wikipedia page, Pudsey was introduced in 1985, 5 years after it was started by the BBC. Pudsey is the mascot for the event. A small yellow bear with a spotted eye patch. The question is though, how did that bear get that patch?
There are a few ways Pudsey could have got that eye patch.
- Pudsey may have been messing with Fireworks. Due to the adverts on the TV about how these things are deadly so closed to Children In Need, it is easy to think that these two are connected. He serves as a warning for kids not to play with fireworks.
- A heavy drinker. After taking some cheap Estorian vodka, he turned yellow. After hearing how it gets to the blood quicker though the eye, he tried and ended up blinding himself.
- He is just trying to commit benefit fraud. Who will give money to “just a bear”? If it’s a bear who is blind in one eye, you feel sorry for him. He can see with both eyes, but just needs the extra cash.
- Overacting. Michel J Fox, star of “Back to the Future” did this advert for some election thingy, but sources claim he was overacting. He suffers from Parkinsons, but sources claim he was doing more than his fair share. Pudsey is trying to get a better job?
- Coke. A good amount of money goes into drugs from this event. They don’t say that it is used to fund the bears coke habit. After sniffing too much he bust a vessel in his eye. He put on the patch to hide it and keep his job. After all, some TV presenters on Coke haven’t got away with it as well as Pudsey has.
Even if there mascot has problems, at least the money goes to a good cause!
One last birthday present. An upgrade for my Flickr account. I’m now a pro user.
So what does this mean? More pictures of my dog.
The new 2gb of upload bandwidth gives me much more space. I wonder if I will be able to fill it up by the end of the month?
So, the new pro account means that any photos taken on my Mum’s Olympus 7 mega pixel camera can be uploaded in full quality. All other photos that I uploaded previously are in full quality.
The only problem is that with it being dark by 4:30pm at night, I only have 1/2 hour of daylight left by the time I get back from school.
Today is still my birthday. I’m 16, which in the UK means I can do more stuff. Like what? I don’t mean physically, but in a legal sense. Starting from today, I can…..
- Have sex
- Get married (with parental permission)
- Purchase Tabaco (but not smoke it, Whats up with that?)
- Have a acholic drink (but can’t buy it)
- Leave home
- Get a job
But to be honest, who care. I’m (for this month at least) just happy here at home, blogging. Tis a sad life!
IIts my birthday today. Yay. So, whats happening. I’m 16. When you get older, you just count it as a year closer to death!. Oh well, its not that bad. At least you get something nice to make the year seem better!
So I get up and get my presents. There where three parcels on the table and a variety of cards. They where in swirly blue paper, which my dog, Alfie, helped to open up. In the first parcel there where three books. iWoz, Revolution in the Valley and Gonzo Gizmos, a book about how to make variety of gadgets out of everyday stuff. In the second two jumpers, and in the third, novelty socks and local chocolates.
From the cards I managed to get £50 towards my MacBook Black fund, which is getting closer and closer. I should have enough by the end of the month.
All in all, a pretty nice selection!
Check out my Flickr to see my dog helping out.
