I always hated Science
Religion is one of the greatest problems with our world. It is true that it brings hope, meaning and reason to billions of people around the world. To some though, it brings a right for a fight, anger and violence.
The most well known example of this has to be Islam. Islam is a peaceful religion. They belief in the same god as Judaism and Christianity. To Al-Qaeda though, Islam is an excuse to take out a anger and jealousy on the west. This connection can also be seen with Nazism and their version of Christianity, simply as an excuse for the holocaust.
When I watched the BBC’s Paranormal program tonight, they where taking a look at Scientology. A “religion” that was created by 50’s science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard (not to be mixed up with Old Mother Hubbard, who fetched her poor doggy a bone.). The basis of which being that we are are alien souls trapped in human bodies.
While watching the documentary, I gained a feeling of hatred towards one of the main spokesman of Scientology. Tommy Davis, a man with very limited Google results. A man with such an influence in Scientology that he was Tom Cruise’s best man at his latest wedding. This man could be seen as the Osama Bin Laden of Scientology. He is an extremist who’s views are not to be crossed. The one thing that really pisses him off is a four letter word that begging with C. Take a guess. The word, Cult.
The presenter, John Sweeny, was taken to an Scientolgist “expedition” called Psychiatry: An Industry of Death. The title says it all. They believe that Psychiatry is a Nazi invention of torture. The “expedition” shows images of Children being tortured in Concentration Camps, Needles in eyes, Acid Burns, ect.
People can belief in what they want, I myself am Agnostic, but extreme fundamentalists create a hated to religion. If Scientology was more open about its belief system and views, then it would be greeted with open arms. If, for example, it took a more peaceful approach to there beliefs like Christianity or Islam, then it would be more widely accepted.
I sense a war of between the BBC and Scientology. Aunty will always win.
