So moving from OS X to Linux (Ubuntu) can be a little bit of a pain. You say goodbye to the default 3D animations and boarderless windows. But now I have X and Compiz-Fusion. One thing I miss though was iPhoto. Well, that was untill I found Ubuntu came with F-Spot.
Its written in C# and powered by Mono. First thing I like about it is its speed. I admit with 3GHZ dual core and 2Gig of RAM, everythings fast. But F-Spot feels really fast.
You can drag and drop photos into sections. Each photo can have tags added to it when dropped into said sections. Then I can send the photo to the GIMP, or internely for futher editing.
Export options are great, but limited and no surport for Flickr and Facebook. I say limited, I can export photos to Flickr, but not tags. I prefer to be able to add custom tags, not the albums name as a tag. But hey, it still works great.
