College has some great points. If you know where to look, you can get onto trips for subjects you aren’t even taking, so I got onto the Btec ICT trip. I do A-Level Computing, which is more programming less gaming. Btec however is more gaming than programming. The trip was to IBM to see a talk about “The future of video games”.

IBM has a base quite near Winchester, Hursley to be a matter of fact. Its research and development down there. They worked on the Cell chip and early colour monitors in the past. Currently it looks like a good place to apply for a job at in the future.

So we go into one of IBM’s presentational hall and sit though a so-so PowerPoint about how video games have evolved and where there gonna go. Then came the second bit, playing video games. The next two hours where spent Wii-ing, Xboxing and PS3ing. Education can be fun. :)

Best game of the lot? I got to play Tux Racer on a IBM Thinkpad running Gentoo. It had some sort of motion sensor built in. When I tipped the laptop left, left went Tux. When right, Tux went right. And when down, Tux went faster. Oh the fun!

Plus I got a free IBM pen…

On Thursday, I took the easiest test of my life. The Chlamydia test. Chlamydia is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases, and with my (lack of) sexual lifestyle, I’ve gotta be careful.

All you have to do is piss in a tube. Thats it. You just pee in it till its about 3/4’s full and hand it in. I was desperate so I accidentally filled the whole tube. Hope that enough of a sample to make sure I’m safe! I should get the results back in about 2-3 weeks, Hopefully the results will be negatively positive.

I got two free gifts for my trouble. The first was two condoms, one of which is labled as “Vanilla”. The second is a packet of Anal Lube. Yes, that’s right, an 8ml packet of Anal Lube. Now what am I supposed to do with that?

Others had a much better use for their presents…
