Vimeoenc

I’ve been using Vimeo for around a year now, and love it. Its like Flickr for videos. However, I’ve found it hard to encode my videos in a small format, which keeps the quality of its image.

So I’ve written a little shell script which uses GStreamer to encode any video its given into an MP4. You can get the by adding my Debian repo (stable) to your sources list.

Democratic

At last Guns N’ Roses (or whats left of them) are going to release Chinese Democracy. It comes out in the UK on the 24th November, after 17 year of “production”. If I spent 17 years on a piece of media, and kept on saying “it’ll nearly be ready” every month or so, I think people would start to suspect I was talking shit. Still I’d at least hope there’d be a few die hard, arse kissing, imbacills who’d you could beat and there’d still come crawling back to part with their hard earned cash for the same media as I released 17 years ago.

I’ll probably pick it up on the day of release. :)

Past And Present

Why is it that time seems to move so fast? One minute your sitting on a park bench with your best mate in 2004, worried about SATS. The next it’s almost 2008 and your working your arse off on A-Levels, not having seen him for almost 2 years! If I’m not carefull, I might loose track of time and my current friends, and they may become a memory, just like my old best mate has.

And why is it that I often feel quite tired and worn down around this time every week? It being a Thursday and all, I’m close to the end of the week. It’s nearly half term, so only one more day and I can start to unwind for a bit.

If all goes to plan, I should achive a few things over the break. Finish my computing coursework for onething. Also, capture some footage for my media studies work. Shit, I have to fill out my UCAS form as well. Find some sort of costume for a Halloween party, and see the new James Bond.

I’m going to see the (sickerning) High School Musical 3 movie tommorow. If there is any cure for the blues, I’m sure it’s not Zac Effron jumping about to music. Yes I have a closed mind about the film, but then again, I’ve seen the second one, and that was craptacular. Low hopes mean I can only be proven surprisingly wrong? Hopefully.

I Love Horses

Saw this in the Metro this morning…

Yes. Thats a horse, which got stuck in a tree. Metro decided it was important so put it on page 3. Unimportant stories such as Tailban members killing people, on page 7.

Still though, look at it. ITS A FING HORSE IN A FING TREE!!!!!!

Trishaaaa!

I was in the audince of an episode of Trisha a few months ago. Turns out it’s being broadcast today at 9.25 on Five. It’s a good one. So if you’ve no job, or are a student, tune in.

[Update] We where seen in the audince. Yay. Thats made my day!
