GNOME in Touchwood

Spotted on the latest episode of Touchwood. Way to spend my time.

Apparently I’m not the only Linux user at college. Recent sightings from reliable sources claim a guy, who is only known by his description, carries a Linux-based laptop. From information collected, he should be somewhere in the Varley cafe, which is known for its “alternative” people. The search must continue to see if I am, indeed, not alone in the use of the *nix.

[Update] His name’s Sam Phippen. He blogs as well!

Looking though my colleges books supply come up with a slim computing section. The odd book on the wonder that is Delphi, perhaps a Dummies book. But, there was the odd gem, For example “Operating Systems Design and Implementation” / The Minix Book. The book which taught Linus the basics and inspired him to write his kernel.

Also available, “The Art Of Deception” by the legend that is Kevin Mitnick. Now that should provide me with some lite, technical, Christmas reading!

The Ultimate Python Program

Be prepared for some really advanced code here…
